Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Flowy, feminine, print-happy label Callalilai just opened its third store in under two years, on Broadway between 12th and 13th Streets. The line, by Japanese designer Hogo Natsuwa, started out in Boerum Hill as Aoyama Itchome before changing its name and expanding to Nolita. This latest space isn't fully decorated yet, but it might be the most spectacular of the locations: It's in the old home of Howard Kaplan Antiques?, and it's still carrying some of the store's furniture and fixtures, all of which are for sale. (We especially liked the winding staircase.)
