Tara Subkoff, the 36-year-old designer behind label Imitation of Christ, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. "If not operated on, the tumor will be fatal in about two years. [She] will probably have the operation in August and recovery could take up to a year." Since recovery means she won't be able to work, The Deitch Gallery will hold a silent auction of 200 couture pieces from the label, with Paul Sevigny DJing, on July 15. [The Cut]
