Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
There's a new kid at the New York fashion blogging party: NBC New York's The Thread. The site, which just launched this week, covers stores, sales, and all things pertaining to clothing from a local perspective. In other words, we'll probably be bumping into them at Clothingline before long. Highlights so far include a sneak preview of Eryn Brinie's fall collection, a look at the two bathing suits The Lake and Stars designed for Noho concept shop Smile, and a recurring feature called "Um, No" in which the writers gently chide celebrities for their unfortunate fashion choices. Each post comes with a bar up the side that lets you vote on how it makes you feel: Options are "Furious," "Sad," "Bored," "Thrilled," "Intrigued," and "Laughing." (NB: Because the fashion world is nothing if not incestuous, The Thread is run by Laurel Pinson, whose empty shoes at Lucky were just filled by our own Leslie Price.)
