Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

THE HAMPTONS—This weekend marks the return of Super Saturday, the annual shopping event that matches a worthycause—the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund—with a completely insane sale. At Super Saturday 12, expect to see marked-down goods from a massive range of labels—everything from Diane von Furstenberg to Elizabeth & James to Jill Stuart to Ralph Lauren—and an equally massive crowd vying for bargains. If you already bought tickets, good work out of you; if not, we're sorry to say that tickets are already sold out, but we're investigating to see if there's any way late-comers can still join the party. BROOKLYN—Tonight and tomorrow, the boutiques of the borough are offering all sorts of perks and discounts as part of Shop Brooklyn. There are far too many stores for us to name them all, but here's a taste: Thistle & Clover in Fort Greene will give a 10% discount and serve snacks. Hayden-Harnett in Greenpoint is knocking 30% off all regular and sale items. And Callalilai on Atlantic is offering a one-two punch of 20% discounts and free appetizers.
