As the hype begins for September's Fashion Week, we can except a slew of pop-up shops, party announcements, and collab deals to hit the wire, and one of the first out of the gates combines all three; it's designer Rachel Roy, and her Rachel Rachel Roy collection for Macy's will get its own piece of Soho retail this fall with a pop-up at 111 Spring Street.
Although WWD lists the opening date as September 10, Rachel Roy herself updated her Twitter today with the news that it'll actually debut a day early on September 9. The shop will however only survive through Fashion Week, closing on the 19th so that Macy's can again have full reign over the line?it'll debut there in mid-August.
It's pretty safe to say that Macy's nicked the inspiration for the Rachel Rachel Roy store from Target's super-successful Alexander McQueen pop-up on the West Side Highway during last Fashion Week, which had stilettos walking into unfamiliar territory for days. Although we doubt Roy will garner all that attention, it's nonetheless excellent to see her with her own, albeit brief, storefront.
