LOWER EAST SIDE—Starting tomorrow and running through Tuesday, July 21st, the stores of the neighborhood are offering all sorts of deals in conjunction with menswear tradeshow (capsule) (pictured at right). Local favorites like Alife, Assembly, Clarabella, In God We Trust, and Pixie Market are taking 10% to 15% off merchandise; Plum's going all the way up to 30% off. Then, when Sunday rolls around, (capsule) will set up a pop-up shop called Means of Production on the ground floor of the Ludlow. Curated by Bblessing and Evident Records, the space will host art events, live music, and a Dossier magazine retail shop at various times between the 19th and the 21st. [RackedWire]
SOHO, LOWER EAST SIDE, PARK SLOPE—Cheery little sex-toy empire Babeland kicks off its food drive and sale tomorrow. If you bring five or more cans of food to any of the three locations, you can get up to 25% off anything in the store. There's also a long list of businesses near the Babelands that will give additional discounts, including Ed Hardy, Dermalogica, Vivienne Tam, and Antique Garage in SoHo; the Dressing Room, Roni-Sue’s Chocolates, 20 Peacocks and Tropical Salon on the Lower East Side; and Bump, Eponymy, Private Stock, Ride Brooklyn, Pintchick Hardware and Bergen Street Comics in Park Slope. The sale lasts through the 19th, and if you truly don't have any cans to donate, they'll still let you walk out with a 20% discount. [RackedWire]
