It was a sad Christmas for lovers of Sergio Rossi shoes as the brand turned to focus on its wholesale and closed all US store locations, including one in LA at Melrose Place and a primo spot on the side of The Peninsula Hotel at 692 Fifth Avenue.
The small space between Lindt Chocolate and Wempe Jewelers will now finally get a new tenant after 8 months of vacancy, but sadly it won't be anyone particularly interesting. Swarovski, after opening their new concept Crystallized space on Broadway in Soho, will revert back to their usual mall-friendly crystal tchotchkes for this Fifth Avenue spot. We're sure they'll sell plenty little crystal Empire State Building statuettes to pay the rent.
