Gone are the days of Jack & Jimbo's Cycle Shop, when Jack Spade peddled vintage bicycles out of half of his Bleecker storefront. Now we enter prime summer sale time. To herald the arrival of 30-50% off discounts at both Bleecker and Greene Street stores, Jack Spade has installed in the Bleecker window a giant replica of his khaki tote.
The magnified bag successfully attracts the attention of the strolling shoppers, not to mention its great use of those oversized ipod headphone speakers. When we stopped by, the Sex and the City tour was kibitzing in the park across the street; perhaps the girls might now be inspired to buy things other than Magnolia cupcakes.
