Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

For over a year now, Fort Greene has been fantasizing about an indie bookstore of its very own. Last February, when Jessica Stockton Bagnulo won a $15,000 grant from the Brooklyn Public Library to open a bookshop, the people of Fort Greene convinced her to pick their neighborhood as the location, formed the Fort Greene Indie Bookstore Initiative, and threw a massive party to help raise funds. Now, their enthusiasm has finally paid off: Bagnulo revealed last week that she's got a lease and an opening date. Greenlight Books will open to the public next September at 686 Fulton Street, across the street from Habana Outpost.
