LOWER EAST SIDE—Stationery store Hudson Street Papers closes its doors today for the last time, with no plans to continue online or re-open a new location. "The Lower East Side is bad news," says the owner, who moved the shop from the West Village to Orchard and Stanton not long ago. Outside the store, he's got a sign (at right) promising that everything, including him, will shortly be gone. [RackedWire]
UNION SQUARE—Speaking of last days, the Dean and Deluca on 11th and University has officially shuttered. Under the "thank you" signs affixed to the walls, workers moved the store fixtures out of the space this afternoon. [RackedWire]
