Once a hot destination for retail chains, Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District is currently "riddled with vacancies", reports the Times. One bright spot on the horizon: Sunglass boutique Oakley plans to open a pop-up in the area on Friday. “'When this opportunity came up, we said, let’s see how the neighborhood absorbs us,' said Sophie Bundalo, a vice president."
