Discontinued: Coletta's California Dream Deferred

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

When we first heard that California casual boutique Coletta would take over the former home of KL Wong's laundry on Sullivan Street, one disgruntled commenter wrote, "The place will only last six months." Well, anonymous #15, you overshot the mark. Felled by the economy, Coletta will close its doors at the end of June. Writes the owner, "I'm going to miss the neighborhood and all the wonderful customers and am so grateful to them for supporting me." Here's hoping the Wongs, who still own the storefront, find a new tenant soon. In the meantime, Coletta will continue online, as so many shuttered shops now do.
