In sad but unsurprising news, the West Village is losing its Kim's Video. The shop, on 89 Christopher Street, plans to close June 30th for the same reasons that all video stores are shutting down—nobody can compete with the awesome power of Netflix. They're looking for someone to buy their whole movie collection, but they're also selling the videos piecemeal at $14 a pop. (The price will go down as the last days approach.) Since Columbia's Kim's closed last August and Mondo Kim's on St. Mark's Place shut down in October, this leaves the Kim's empire with one final outpost, the newish little spot on First Avenue in the East Village.
