At the Retail Deal of the Year Awards, the Observer found lots of optimism and several predictions. Forecast the first: Manhattan is going to be flooded with “better-priced stores” like Target, Old Navy, and Apple. (Apple?) Forecast the second: Now that Zara's established on Bryant Park, the stretch of Fifth between 42nd and 49th Streets will fill up with new businesses. Whether there's any truth to these prognostications, only time will tell. [NYo]
