A tipster who seems well-versed in the world of Swedish denim sends word from the Acne/Filippa K/Nudie sample sale in Soho. His report: "Hey, quick note on the sale at Filippa K and Acne, my favorite Swedish brands that (unlike H&M) don't fall apart after two washings. Good selection, esp for the guys, including lots of denim. Sizes skew smaller. For some reason, a lot of their sample jeans are in size 28x34, which my Swedish friends call "PTJs" or "Penis-Tight Jeans." I've long suspected that tightly-squeezed equipment explains why Swedish men are such metrosexual wimps. Prices were higher than I was hoping, like $100 for Acne and $75 for Flippa's dress shirts, which were $89 at Barney's in December. Maybe prices will be lower in a day or two if they have a "slut rea". ("Slut rea" = final reduction in Swedish, words that are written in 4-foot-tall letters on many Stockholm windows twice a year.)"
