CHELSEA—Tomorrow night at 6pm, Housing Works kicks off their Design on a Dime charity shopping event at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 W.18th Street. The non-profit asked interior designers like Ty Pennington, John Bartlett, and Charlotte Moss, to create "room vignettes" inside the conference space. Shoppers can buy any of the furniture they used for 60% to 80% off, and all proceeds go to benefit the homeless. The event, which is hosted by Parker Posey, runs 6pm to 9pm tomorrow; tickets are $150, but if you don't mind missing the Party Girl herself, you can also get in free Friday and Saturday. MEATPACKING DISTRICT—This weekend, the Diane von Furstenberg shop at 14th and Washington Street will be donating 10% of all sales to NYU's Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in honor of Mother's Day. They're also offering family photos both days—11am to 7pm Saturday and 12pm to 6pm Sunday. We fervently hope this means you'll be able to get shots of your wee fashionistas perched on DVF's lap, Easter Bunny-style. [DVF/Facebook]
