Above the Fray: Swimwear's a Standout at Theory

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Readers agree Theory's menswear sale in the Flatiron District isn't super cheap, but it's definitely worth a visit. The best deals are scarves ("gingham man-scarves," to be precise) and swimwear, both $39, but you can also find good prices on suits and outerwear. It sounds like the shirts were less appealing, according to one commenter: "Theory usually makes a very nice short sleeve summer shirt that you can wear out or to the office but the sale was lacking..and none of the ones with lycra." But the staffers are helpful and the scene isn't crowded, making for a pleasant shopping experience.
