This week, Times writer Mike Albo visits the new EMS store in Soho hungover, which he does not recommend. He finds the store full of chipper, clear-eyed types ("The kind of people you see jogging at 4 a.m. when you’re just getting to sleep."); outdoor sports gear; and surprisingly stylish clothing. But there are a few misplays: "A women’s jacket by Mountain Hardwear ($140) is covered in green synthetic fur as if someone had hunted and skinned Oscar the Grouch. It’s exactly the kind of wacky jacket worn by an unbalanced trust-fund girl at Burning Man who pretends to like you, gives you mushrooms and then steals your tent and your boyfriend while you are tripping."
