Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Everyone, stop holding your breath. We have proof of the triumphant West Village return of Nusraty Afghan Imports, the tenacious retailer that was sent packing from its longtime home on the corner of West 10th and Bleecker by Thom Browne's Brook Brother's line Black Fleece. As we reported a few days ago, the new Nusraty will be opening soon at 113 West 10th Street. Though the rare Buddha statues, carpets, tapestries, semi-precious stones and other antiquities have yet to be loaded in, the space appears to be almost ready to go. They do still need to hang that 'Marc Jacobs and his ilk not welcome here' sign in the window, though.
