Crazy Insane Line Update: Masses Choose Choos

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The one-day, six-hour-long Jimmy Choo sample sale is upon us. We've already journeyed inside for the press preview and sweated out the lunch rush. Now, for musings on the current state of the line.

Forget about the Jimmy Choo sale currently going on for the next, oh, 4 hours at Chelsea's Metropolitan Pavilion. You see, at the line's current length, you can expect to wait for two of those hours, and there are better shoes to be found already on the feet of the line waiters. We aren't suggesting a bartering market to spontaneously open within the line, but damn, it sure could.

In the throng of women continuing to patiently wait well around the corner from the sale, we spotted a healthy majority sporting Tory Burch flats for their easy slip-on, slip-off ability, while other girls on lunch breaks teetered on the occasional Louboutins (or Jessica Simpsons). Even if you arrive too late to muck through what's left of the dregs from seasons ago, at least you'll have great company in line. And yes, that is the highest compliment we can give to this sale.
