Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Although a healthy majority of the reports from the release of the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection mention it having sold out within hours, we however have witnessed quite the opposite. Even when we stopped back in at the Fifth Avenue flagship hours after the initial rush, we saw that all the good stuff was gone, "leaving only a few sad racks full of tanks, tees and cardigans."

Well those sad racks are still lurking around nearly a week later, placed up front and center for maximum exposure in the store but sadly little interest. What? No one is chomping at the bit for a $79.90 bright pink cashmere cardigan in the midst of spring? Those babies are still to be found in bulk, as well as the nearly see-through kooky print dress. Who's excited for the second collection release on May 14? Anyone? Bueller?
