Rob Bryn, manager of Williamsburg boutique the Shoe Market and author of perhaps the best store emails we've ever read, is quitting. Today he issued his last newsletter ever. It announced the name of his replacement, explained his decision to leave the newsletter business, and offered this bit of existentialism:
Tomorrow is my very last day. I've been really lucky to see some of my favorite customers over the last couple of weeks. I don't really believe anything matters and I'm celebrating all the time and I never know why and what is sentimentality anyway? If you want to come in the store tomorrow and you bring a bottle of champagne, awesome. If nobody does, that's cool too. I'm happy. I don't need anymore ceremony.Rogan sign, now we need you more than ever.
