Renovations: Is Longchamp Making a Switcharoo?

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It was only this winter that Longchamp shuffled three blocks south on Madison from East 63rd to East 60th Street in order to occupy what seemed to be a larger and better-located spot. Nonetheless, we took our usual Madison Avenue constitutional earlier this week only to spot some curious plywood over the front of the old Longchamp space at 713 Madison.

The 3-story Longchamp ad cum construction plywood is currently quietly cuddled up next to Roberto Cavalli. What are they tinkering at under there? We'd love to see some renderings, but have come up dry on the topic of their renovation. Drop any clues or conspiracy theories in the comments.
