Before crowds ripped the peacock-printed dresses from the walls and snapped up the studded belts from the tables, we took a turn 'round H&M's flagship on Fifth Avenue and 51st Street to see the merchandise in person. A few observations: the sequined mini dress is a lot lighter than you'd expect but the big studded belt is about as heavy as it looks; and all the stuff is right up front, ready to be grabbed. There are a ton of peacock-y clutches and bright pink and blue cardigans, but not as many leather jackets and ruffly dresses. Above, the clothing in it's unsullied pre-opening state.
