Now Open: Balenciaga's Outlet Bows at Woodbury Commons

These are words we never thought we'd ever get to type: Balenciaga opened their first US outlet store today, and it's within an hour's drive (without traffic) at Woodbury Commons. From the looks of the store's location on the outlet map above (store 885), it's probably tiny and stocked with the less desirable leather goods and those shoes from Fall/Winter '08 which were ubiquitous on deep clearance shelves earlier this year.

Nonetheless, getting a Balenciaga outlet is a huge coup for Woodbury, since we can think of a few other ritzy outlet centers chomping at the bit for a piece of their hot couture action.

Also of note are other openings at Woodbury, including a 7 For All Mankind shop to come in fall, and a Joe's Jeans outlet which debuted slightly before Balenciaga. Instead of to the boutiques in the Hamptons, we know where the cavalcade of helicopters will be headed this year.
