In the Window: DVF Brings Back the Boho Mojo

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Just when we thought it safe to retire the peasant blouses and droopy feather headbands to the far, far reaches of our closets comes this bohemian window display from Diane von Furstenberg. Claiming prime real estate at her MePa HQ on the corner of West 14th Washington Streets, the resort gypsy-esque scene has us yearning for summer breezes and lazy evenings drinking far too many Mai Tais.

This is exactly the point of course, as the display also slyly announces the upcoming debut of DVF's Southampton store in May 2009. Of course be expecting more info on that from us, but for now you'll have to be placated by plastic mannequins and a tunic so covered in metal bedazzling that it almost qualified as chainmaille.
