When LeSportsac abandoned their teeny nook space on Spring Street for the airy two-story flagship they now inhabit on Greene, they didn't add another giant "For Rent" sign to the neighborhood. Instead, they moved in one of their own collaborators, the Japanese-inspired Italian designer Tokidoki, and his range of cutesy collections for the likes of Hello Kitty and Mimobot.
With the walls lined in skate decks instead of giant nylon bags, the space feels a little less claustrophobic now that LeSportsac has taken their multitude around the corner. Officially, the Tokidoki store's grand opening is this Saturday from 1-4pm, when Simone Legno, the Italian illustrator behind Tokidoki, will drop in for a signing. Expect a long line down Spring for this one.
