We know we are not alone in saying that former Marc Jacobs sales associate Ginny Branch has had her fifteen minutes, especially since she decamped to Maison Martin Margiela some time ago. In her place, who has become the darling of the MJ Bleecker boutiques? Introducing Ruth, a friendly little dog delighting customers at the Little Marc boutique.
We first met Ruth earlier this week when we stopped in to gawk at the giant (working) hamster wheel in the Little Marc window, and despite this circus sideshow prop, all attention was on the little Jack Russell/Australian Cattle Dog mix. In fact, we watched families flood into the store in order to let their children pet the pooch (and yes, they ended up shopping).
She's an asset to the store during this economy, although she's not Marc's property--she belongs to one of the sales associates. Note to Marc, in case we're getting little Ruth in trouble: she is perfectly behaved and brings a lot of positive energy. What's next for Ruth now that she has MJ experience? Looking at Ginny's career, we're guessing Ruth should be expecting a magazine spread.
