Were it not for a window filled with colorful spools of thread, we might have wandered right past LES newcomer Factoriem, a petite Orchard Street shop currently obscured by a construction shed. The three-week-old boutique is home to a colorful assortment of womenswear and accessories by a small group of lesser-known labels like Wakana Koike, Sumie Tachibana and Ideeen. The selection is nicely edited, with four racks of clothing, and only a few shelves of accessories; statement-making dresses are priced at about $300 to $700, and tops from $100 to $400.
