Yes, that is a life-size hamster wheel in the window of Marc Jacobs' Bleecker Street kids shop, Little Marc. And yes, that is a person in a rat costume (since a rat is one of MJ's logos), posing to the delight of weekend shoppers strolling between Magnolia Bakery and 7 For All Mankind.

Usually by now, Marc's women's shop a block up boasts a spring walk-in window display complete with character mascot and a photographer to capture the resulting tender moments in retail. The arrival of the dancing rat in the Little Marc window, however, may just be a toned-down 2009 version of the beloved '08 skunk and raucous chicken of '07. Damn, we already miss those guys.
