Other stores may be closing in the recession, but Chelsea still needs its vitamins. Coming soon to the corner of 6th Avenue and West 21st Street, in a space sporting a vacancy sign for some time, is a 1,500-square foot Vitamin Shoppe. Sadly, it won't be ready before summer, when we stop buying Emergen-C in bulk and instead try to get our Vitamin C from fresh fruit and sunshine. The addition of Vitamin Shoppe will hardly cure the ills of this patch on 6th Avenue however, as the massive old Barnes & Noble still sits hollow and unwanted after a year.
