In the Window: Aldo Soho Connects the Dots

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We would have never expected such whimsical creativity from Aldo, but with them trying to sell spring shoes to a public who may have written off new pair purchases for the recession, they better work it. While walking by one of their many Broadway locations, this one in Soho, your eye will be drawn to the windows which bear an enlarged connect-the-dots outline of images from their spring campaign.

More effective than just throwing some espadrilles in the window and calling it spring, the the unique window graphic appeals to the passers-by on the sidewalk and makes ya look. Still, we have to admit that it has absolutely nothing to do with shoes other than perhaps drawing you closer to the store.
