A Racked tipster updates us on the recently opened Black Fleece outpost on Bleecker and Thom Browne's brand affiliation: "I wandered into the new Black Fleece store on Bleecker this afternoon and to my amazement found not a single piece of their 09 spring merchandise on sale (explains why no one else was in there!). There are some nice pieces including short-sleeve gingham shirts and chunky cable knit v-neck sweaters, however uninspiring to purchase given the climate. It's a rather small collection with a higher emphasis on suiting. None of the pieces in the store are online. Last piece of info I received was that Black Fleece was pioneered by Brooks Brothers and Thom Browne is just the "host" designer, and although he recently extended his contract (according to store clerk), the line would exist without his affiliation. I haven't fact-checked this, but interesting to know if true."
