Marc Jacobs may have canceled his Fashion Week afterparty and decided to downsize the audience for his runway show, but he's still planning to expand his boutique empire. In January, Robert Duffy, the pres. of MJ International, disclosed to Women's Wear Daily that the company had signed a lease for another space on Bleecker. Duffy didn't name an address, but he did say that the space was currently occupied, and that the tenant would be leaving within the year.
Which is why our ears perked up when we heard that Bleecker Street restaurant Miracle Grill would be closing on February 15th. The space, at no. 415, is located between Marc's other Bleecker Street boutiques and his newer shops on Bank Street and West 4th.

The only thing is, there's a better space available: The storefront at 400 Bleecker that currently houses Biography Bookshop, which does have plans to relocate to another building in the area within the next year. It's on a corner, it's already retail, it's also right in the midst of Jacobs' West Village empire, and who doesn't love a big column out front? Until Duffy or Jacobs issues an official confirmation, this is all rumormongering. But our bet's on this one.
