The last time we saw Roberto Cavalli, he was in high spirits at the launch of his collection for H&M. How times have changed. Writer Suzy Menkes reports that the designer was "emotional and visibly distressed" at a press conference about the sudden cancellation of his Just Cavalli runway show because "Ittierre, the manufacturer under license for [the] second line had gone into liquidation." The Just Cavalli presentation, put together to replace the show, also sounds sad: "Although the models did their best to show the studded leathers and mildly edgy sports clothes, this brief showroom presentation was in striking contrast to Cavalli's usual rambunctious Milan shows held for 2,000 people in a large tent."
