Liveblogging the Shows: Lacoste

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In an effort to make reading Racked as much like being in the tents as humanly possible, we'll be liveblogging the shows all week, from the suspense of waiting in line (will the seats be any good?) to the drama of the runway (will anyone stumble?) to the post-show euphoria. This time around: Brightly-colored sportswear from Lacoste.

Show location: The Tent at Bryant Park
The skinny: Began like most other shows so far, with creams and greys. The show then progressed into a peacock blue and eventually ended with a combination of butter and highlighter yellow. Watch out for blanket-ish coats next winter.
Celebs spotted: Sadly, it seems none made it up for this first show after the parties last night. We did however spot Suzy Menkes front row and noticed that none of the writers for Page Six showed (their seats were all empty).
The takeaway: Lacoste definitely studied Marc Jacobs' Fall/Winter 2008 collection; this was like a budget version of it with a dash of Stella McCartney for Adidas.

10:16am: First Suzy Menkes spotting of the week! The International Herald Tribune fashion reporter just entered the show.

10:33am: Despite huge crowd, it's very orderly in here. No celeb spottings yet.

10:34am: They're about to start. It's all dark in here.

10:37am: Here we go! Lots of cream and grey. Very MJ-meets-Y-3-meets Stella.

10:40am: Now seeing turquoise with charcoal. A lot of knits and leggings. Very slouchy luxe.

10:42am: Finishing off with cream-colored pieces. Now watching the finale.
