Karen Walker brought her fall '09 looks to the Altman Building on 18th Street, where the New Zealander showed off a collection filled with charcoal jackets and shearling bucket hats. The show, interestingly coined "She's Cracked," began with a song from The Go-Betweens, also interestingly titled "Karen." (Is Walker suggesting something?) The clothes were less cutesy and almost seemed to reach for a somewhat edgy feel, which was also boosted by the show's second "cracked-out" song, the Beatles's "Helter Skelter." We read the collection as a lovely tribute to the chaos inside someone who's just about to crack.—Inae Oh
