Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The team behind menswear collective Loden Dager sure know how to pick a location. They showed their Fall 09 collection inside the grand library at the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen on West 44th Street. The room was just the right size for the mustachioed crowd (including celeb supporters Laura Dern and her husband, musician Ben Harper). The menswear they showed was eminently wearable: lots of cozy-looking fisherman's sweaters, drapy scarves and anoraks in washed out greens, browns, grays and pinks. The models walked the runway, then up the stairs to line up in the stacks, providing a few humorous moments (the ceilings up there are very low). Afterward, everyone seemed to retreat to the open bar—sponsored by hip gin brand Hendricks.
