Inside the maelstrom that is the Barneys Warehouse Sale, women are fighting over shoes, bags, designer dresses and denim; men are politely digging through suiting; and then, there's the lonely housewares section. It's definitely the eye of the storm: When we were there, it wasn't completely empty, but it was the quietest area of the sale. There were about ten people poking around this morning, eying Christmas ornaments, decorative pillows, vases and pillows. Guess home decor just doesn't inspire the same blood lust as dresses, suits, shoes and bags do.
