Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We will admit that we don't fully understand the appeal of Hello Kitty, who, though adorable, never seems to have much of a personality. Luckily, cosmetic company M.A.C. has personality to spare, and they've funneled a ton of it into their collaboration with the Japanese kiddie icon.
Alongside their beauty products, M.A.C. also rounded up an impressive list of designers to create outfits inspired by the friendly feline. They're currently auctioning those off on eBay, with proceeds going to benefit school of higher fashion learning FIT. We have a feeling Mariah Carey will end up with at least three.
