Carolina Herrera is a beacon of perfectionism in more ways than one. She insisted that her lower-priced CH Carolina Herrera line's first store would be on Madison Ave., and she just signed a lease for a 2,300-square-foot flagship at 802 Madison Ave. between 67th and 68th Sts., the former location of Issey Miyake, just ten blocks south of her Carolina Herrera flagship.
CH Carolina Herrera has full lines for men, women, children and babies, as well as fragrances, and it will be expanding into women's footwear shortly. There are 19 outposts in Spain, but the Madison Ave. store will be the line's first freestanding location. All the CH line's other stores are in malls, because they wanted to open the New York flagship first and go from there. Future stores are planned for London, Madrid, Buenos Aires and São Paolo, as well as ten more in U.S. cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago.
"CH Carolina Herrera is opening in New York and will be on the same street as my Carolina Herrera New York boutique — Madison Avenue," Herrera told WWD. "It is my favorite street in New York and the perfect place to be. I am in heaven."
