Above the Fray: DVF Already Open to Fans

Are you a fan of Diane von Furstenberg? Then you're in luck! Her sample sale officially begins tomorrow at 9am, but it's open right now to "friends, family and fans," according to the invitation, and it will stay that way through 6:30pm tonight. Early reports back from 260 Fifth Avenue are generally promising, except when it comes to samples. Writes a tipster:

Same deal as last year—tons of graphic prints, lots of thicker wool shift and "officey" type dresses. Adorable prints in all sizes. Not as many samples as last year, but tons and tons of sweaters. Not so impressive, but the ladies are going bonkers for them.

And blogger Vie Society concurs: "In the past, have found some amazeballs totally wacky samples (priced @ $50), but this year they suckedballs." She also brings news of insane dressing room lines, which will almost definitely grow more insane tomorrow. (Check her site for great photos, including a shot of the price list.) Meanwhile, Madison Avenue Spy reports that restocking will occur on Wednesday, so plan your strategy accordingly.
