Just when you thought that the Balmain sandal fever had calmed down with the onslaught of winter weather, fast fashion chain Zara decides to resurrect the strappy, be-blinged demons as limited-edition releases of their own.
The "Zara 1000 Numbered Edition" heeled sandals are a weak attempt at causing the fever that surrounds H&M's limited edition lines, but these will have their flair:
This sandal is emblazoned with a serial number on its sole, arrives in a specially designed box and is currently sold in only 45 Zara boutiques, marking it a limited-edition Zara item. With only 1,000 made, the '1000 NUMBERED Edition' sandal, as the style is dubbed, is available for purchase now. However, shoe lovers everywhere will have to battle it out for a chance to own a pair, making it all the more enticing to compete.
We highly doubt that any battling will take place and we're not exactly thrilled about the price$229 for fast fashion and shoes that don't appear to be anything special. But we know there are some hardcore Zara groupies out there who will be scrambling to the closest store after reading this, and we've saved you the trouble.
We called a few of the Manhattan stores and although most had no idea what we were talking about, the Flatiron Zara location (101 Fifth Avenue and 17th Street) confirmed that they have them in store. Who wants to bet that they'll end up on sale in a month or two?
