The Japanese master of pleating, Issey Miyake, might have moved out of uptown space at 802 Madison to make way for Carolina Herrera's first CH store, but he's not quite ready to give up.
Opening today and lasting for a little over a month?until January 30, 2010? the tribecaISSEYMIYAKE flagship is curating a pop-up shop a couple doors up, at 807 Madison Avenue and 68th Street. "Bringing downtown to uptown" is the motto for the space, and it will include more than just the Issey menswear and womenswear. Fans of Issey will find the Pleats Please, HaaT, and Cauliflower lines as well, with a serious focus on new items for Spring/Summer 2010.
