This summer's Theory women's sale via Sample Sally

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

MIDTOWN WEST—The Thread reports that the Theory women's sale, which officially opens to the public on Friday at sample sale site Clothingline, is already accepting shoppers. "Theory's one of those sample sales where it's really tough to go wrong—the separates are perfect for work wear (trousers are under $100, button-downs are under $60), and the suits are stuff of legend (going for under $400 at the sale)." We recall the last sale being a bit of a disappointment, but maybe we got there after all the good stuff was gone. If you check it out (at 261 West 36th Street), do let us know what you think. FLATIRON DISTRICT—Meanwhile, about ten blocks south and a couple blocks east, the Theory men's sale has also kicked off early. Writes a reader, "They have raised prices for the sale. I noticed outerwear (winter) was $299 and I know last winter it was $249. Nylon outerwear was $149. The leathers were $499 and I want to say they were $399 last year but I can't recall. The dress shirts (neck sizing) are $59 and the more fashion forward dress shirts (that retail $195-275) are $99. Even at $99, these are overpriced. Winter hats (some nice ones) were $59 and they retail at $125. Nope, not a bargain but the scarves which are priced higher are also $59." Click through to the dealfeed comments section for more details, or just head over—as with the women's sale, it's going to go fast. [Racked Comments]
