Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Our feet hurt like hell after a long party in the highest heels we own, and the idea of wearing comfortable flat shoes for the rest of our lives seems like the best thing that could ever happen. We're clearly not going to actually do that, but the idea is compelling enough that we're thrilled by the results of the latest collaboration between Opening Ceremony and Keds. The pony hair shoes come in cheetah, leopard and zebra prints inspired by the punk subculture of seventies Britain, and they look like they'd go with everything by virtue of going with nothing.
We're particularly into the leopard and cheetah, but we're not sure which is better. Either way, we'll have to try really hard to avoid peeling off the little blue tag on the back or filling in the white herringbone rubber edges with a ball-point pen like we used to when we were kids. They're available at Opening Ceremony and online for $125.
