Racked Giveaway Extravaganza: Who Will Win the Michael Kors Bag?

New, 14 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This week, the month-long orgy of swag that is the Racked Giveaway Extravaganza is dedicated entirely to our friends at Lucky Magazine. Tomorrow, we'll introduce a new contest with a Lucky e-boutique gift certificate as its prize, but first, we have to determine who won the gold tote Michael Kors designed for the magazine.

We asked readers for their best unusual holiday gift ideas, and the answers that came in ranged from a mug made entirely out of bacon to a book that helps you determine what's wrong with your pee. The top seven selections are below. Let us know your favorite, and we'll announce the winner tomorrow morning.

1.) A toy based on a child's drawing from Shidonni. Pro: Perfect if you have no idea what to get your niece/nephew. Con: Quality really depends on whether or not the kid's a good artist.

2.) A life-sized dinosaur. Pro: It's a life-sized dinosaur. Con: It costs approximately $47,448.34. Although shipping is free!

3.) A hollowed-out book where you can hide your secrets. Pro: Fun and cheap. Con: Might be overly twee. If such a thing exists.

4.) A day driving cars at a NASCAR racetrack. Pro: Great for a guy who loves cars. Con: Sounds sort of dangerous.

5.) Take-out menu organizer. Pro: Everyone needs one of these. Con: Not very sexy.

6.) Woolrich's sheep-shaped USB drive. Pro: Kind of adorable. Con: A tad unprofessional.

7.) Quarterly juice cleanses and a session with a coach from Blueprint Cleanse. Pro: Recipient might find it hilarious and refreshingly frank. Con: Recipient might never speak to you again.
