Doonan Does D.C.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This is amazing—it seems Simon Doonan was hired to decorate the White House for Christmas this year. Although the White House wouldn't confirm the choice, rumors suggest that the selection was made months ago and that decorations began going up over the weekend and should be unveiled Wednesday. We're hoping Goyard-monogrammed ribbons are featured prominently; and we're thrilled Doonan is now joining our President of Fashion Michelle Obama and Vice President of Fashion Ikram Goldman as Secretary of Fashion.
