Bed-Stuy Blog reports a shiny new storefront being readied on Tompkins Avenue between Putnam and Jefferson, next to coffee shop Common Grounds. The store, called Sole Survivor, promises premium sneakers in an expensive-looking space. As the blog puts it, "I love the look of the storefront—the bold white exterior, the sidewalk lights, the font (Is that Helvetica Neue Bold Condensed???) It looks very Soho." Indeed! Given that the owners put up a Halloween display, it seems the spot should be open soon.
