Hermès Can Do No Wrong

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Hermès sales are actually up 10.2 percent for the third quarter, bucking just about every "nobody is buying" trend there is. Apparently people are buying, but they're only buying Hermès (must be nice). The company did mark a drop in profits due to global currency issues, but people are evidently still buying the super-high-end scarves and leather, and the house looks set to to meet or exceed its target for the year.
